SP250 Details – 102727

Mrs Olive Clayton and her husband were pre-war Brooklands racers and Mrs Clayton had her race cars prepared by Griffins. She later ask them to get “one of those new V8 Daimler sports car” and the SP was serviced when in her ownership by a mechanic at Griffens and when he moved away she asked him to come over to Sussex and continue serving the car – which he did. There was an article about the mechanic in both the DM and the Automobile magazine wherein he mentioned Mrs Clayton and the SP. — I did ring the mechanic (he is about 90 ) up as he lives up in Suffolk and he was most pleased to know the SP was still extant.
