This car is reputed to have been sold new for diplomatic duty in South Africa and shipped back to England where it was stored for ten years until being shipped out to Australia from Scotland in 1983.

Originally black, the car was white when purchased and is now black over gunmetal. Still low mileage, the car won its class at the Daimler & Lanchester Car Club Display in 2001.

The most significant feature of the majestic Majors was the exceptional 4.5 litre V8 engine. Almost turbine like smoothness gave acceleration of 0 – 60 mph in 9.6 seconds. Not bad for a car with an all up weight of almost two tons. Four wheel discs and power steering ensured adequate manoeuverability and stopping power to match the mighty engine.
