This vehicle was purchased by the Australian Federal Police, primarily for patrolling the Monaro Highway between Cooma and Canberra. This purchase started a long Police encounter of using fast cars for the so called “Snow Bunny Patrol”. This vehicle averaged 1700 miles/month (20,400 miles/year) until being sold in 1968. From 1968 to 1981, the vehicle had changed hands 4 or 5 times. When the vehicle was purchased in 1984 it was in a very poor state of repair and showing 30,480 on the odometer. The engine was blowing blue and black smoke and the gearbox had two forward gears, the interior and exterior was in a poor state of repair. The vehicle was to be overhauled as a road going restoration project and has average 1500 miles/year.
