Freestone and Webb built twelve bodies for the DE 27 chassis and this car is the sixth built. Most were full limousine bodies, but this is an owner-driver saloon. It has been owned by the current owner since 1980 and early in its existence belonged to Ashtons Circus. In the mid 1960s, the then owner used it for his honeymoon to Adelaide from Sydney and saved money by sleeping in it.
After he disposed of it, a cocktail cabinet was added, but unfortunately not of Daimler standard. After purchase in 1980 it was repainted in black over royal blue and the interior refurbished. It is used regularly in Club events and has recorded 26000 miles since 1980.
